THE SKYWAY TO BIG LAFFS

Thanks to Movieline for this hot tip: Whereas no one has yet been able to discern a good reason for the existence of such previous Jason Friedberg/Aaron Seltzer works as Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie, there has been now been revealed one possible justification for the celluloid spent on this comedy duo’s latest “parody,” Vampires Suck. And here it is…

Now, I’m not sure that Skyway Drive-in billboard is up to the quality of this Classic of Internet Found Humor, Marquee Division, but I’d say the combo being advertised is at least the equal of this one or this other one. And I will eagerly give the photo points based solely on the cheeriness of the marquee itself. That Skyway Drive-in practically looks like a circus compared to the other dull boards linked to here, and we all know that in motion picture exhibition presentation is king.

Those who tumble for that very reasonable admission ought to thank the management (or at least the person responsible for setting the letters) for the big laugh to be had driving onto the lot too. Why? Well, if the Friedman/Seltzer track record up to now is any reasonable barometer of expectation it might be the last chortle to be had for the next 90 minutes or so, at least until the second feature begins.

(Thanks to Louis Virtel and Movieline)
